Description
Summary:ABSTRACT: The present action research project was designed for a deeper understanding in how a change in a methodological approach could modifier students’ attitude towards learning English. The approach used was theme based instruction conceived from students’ interest to formulate a plan to implement thematic units and at the same time follow the curricular program of the public institution where this study took place. The data was collected through interactive techniques and the results revealed that students’ attitude can be modified when a topic of their interest is used to teach English. It means, when a topic is used instead of teaching grammar directly produce a change the appreciation students have about their learning process of a second language.
