description This article presents the challenges faced by indigenous students belonging to the Piapoco ethnic group in the department of Guainía, in the development of mathematical thinking, specifically in basic mathematical operations. Addressing this issue, to improve these abilities in students, through Ethnomathematics and the approach of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), where the objective was the design of a didactic sequence with the implementation of the qualitative approach, of ethnographic type, with the technique of ethnomathematics, where they were approached with the different analyzes and the coexistence with the environment and the context that the researcher has had. Based on the data presented, on the information collected and the stories told by the grandparents and indigenous Piapoco scholars, the great need to generate activities through a didactic sequence that was contextualized to their environment, reality and traditions was evident; because they, in their worldview, traditions and culture, are immersed in basic operations during their daily activities, however, it is essential to enhance these processes from reality.

Abordando este tema, para mejorar estas capacidades en los estudiantes, a través de la Etnomatemáticas y el enfoque de la Educación Matemática Realista (EMR), donde el objetivo fue el diseño de una secuencia didáctica con la implementación del enfoque cualitativo, de tipo etnográfica, con la técnica de etnomatemáticas, donde se abordaron con los diferentes análisis y la convivencia con el entorno y el contexto que ha tenido la investigadora. Con base en los datos presentados, en la información recolectada y las historias contadas por los abuelos y sabedores indígenas piapocos, se evidenció la gran necesidad de generar actividades mediante una secuencia didáctica que estuviera contextualizada a su entorno, realidad y tradiciones; debido a que ellos en su cosmovisión, tradiciones y cultura se ven inmersos en las operaciones básicas durante sus actividades diarias, sin embargo, resulta imprescindible potenciar estos procesos desde la realidad.Este artigo apresenta os desafios que os estudantes indígenas perten- centes ao grupo étnico Piapoco no departamento de Guainía enfrentam no desenvolvimento do pensamento matemático, especificamente em operações matemáticas básicas. Abordando esta questão, para melhorar estas competências nos estudantes, através da Etnomatemática e da abordagem da Educação Matemática Realista (EMR), onde o objectivo era a concepção de uma sequência didáctica com a implementação da abor- dagem qualitativa, de tipo etnográfico, com a técnica da Etnomatemática, onde as diferentes análises e a coexistência com o ambiente e o contexto que o investigador teve foram abordadas com as diferentes análises e a coexistência com o ambiente e o contexto que o investigador teve.
