Summary:This work presents a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) for Department of Microbiology in a company that provides quality control service in Bogotá. The Department performs microbiological quality control of pharmaceutical, cosmetic, veterinary and agricultural products, department activities are critical to organizational performance. The BSC design methodology involves four consecutive stages: definition of mission and vision statements, strategic analysis, strategy development and creation of the BSC. Strategic map of the Department is built around of four perspectives proposed by Kaplan and Norton.
