Este estudio analítico de corte transversal se propuso examinar la asociación entre factores sociodemográficos y educativos con el estrés, ansiedad y depresión en adolescentes de la Institución Educativa Eustorgio Colmenares Baptista de Cúcuta. La investigación se realizó con 300 estudiantes entre 12 y 17 años, utilizando la escala DASS y un cuestionario sociodemográfico específico. El análisis estadístico, ejecutado con SPSS v27, incluyó análisis univariado, bivariado y regresión logística binaria, adhiriéndose a estrictos estándares éticos. Sorprendentemente, los resultados no mostraron asociaciones significativas entre la mayoría de las variables sociodemográficas y educativas con los niveles de ansiedad, depresión y estrés. Sin embargo, se descubrió una asociación significativa entre el sexo y la presencia de estos síntomas, con una mayor probabilidad en el sexo femenino (Odds=0.293, IC95%: 0.168-0.513). Este estudio contribuye significativamente a la comprensión de la salud mental adolescente en Cúcuta, destacando la importancia de las diferencias de género en las intervenciones y políticas de salud mental. La ausencia de otras asociaciones significativas sugiere la necesidad de explorar variables adicionales. Los hallazgos sientan las bases para futuras investigaciones, enfatizando la necesidad de estudios longitudinales más amplios y el desarrollo de estrategias de prevención e intervención sensibles al género y adaptadas al contexto local de Cúcuta y regiones similares en Colombia. This cross-sectional analytical study aimed to examine the association between sociodemographic and educational factors with stress, anxiety, and depression among adolescents returning to in-person attendance at the Eustorgio Colmenares Educational Institution in Cúcuta, Colombia. The research focused on a representative sample of 300 students aged 12 to 17, drawn from a total population of 955 students. The study employed the DASS Likert-type scale to measure anxiety, stress, and depression levels. Prior to data collection, informed consent was obtained from parents or guardians, explaining the nature and risks of the research. This approach ensured ethical compliance and participant protection. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of the factors under study. The research was classified as minimal risk, as it did not involve direct intervention or modification of participants' biological, physiological, psychological, or social variables. Strict confidentiality of participant data and results was maintained throughout the study. The findings revealed significant insights into adolescent mental health in the context of returning to face-to-face schooling. Notably, symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress were found to be more prevalent among female adolescents compared to their male counterparts. The study confirmed the hypothesis that at least some sociodemographic and educational factors are associated with stress, anxiety, and depression in adolescents. This research contributes valuable information to understanding adolescent mental health in Cúcuta, particularly in the context of the return to in-person schooling. The results underscore the importance of considering gender differences in designing mental health interventions and policies for this population.
