Repositorio digital Universidad de los Llanos.https://repositorio.unillanos.edu.co/handle/001/5557Universidad de los LlanosRepositorio digital Universidad de los Llanoshttps://repositorio.unillanos.edu.coIncluye tablas y figuras.Introducción: Los trastornos mentales en Latinoamérica y el mundo afectan a una gran parte de la población, especialmente a jóvenes y adolescentes, puesto que la adolescencia, biológica e históricamente, está considerada como una etapa en donde se afrontan muchos cambios a nivel físico y emocional y, sumado a esto, las situaciones de crisis como la epidemia por el virus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pueden hacer todavía más complicada esta etapa de desarrollo físico y psicológico. Los cambios en la rutina diaria de la vida cotidiana y el encierro han obligado a adolescentes y jóvenes a adaptarse a formas diferentes de cumplir con sus obligaciones escolares y, sobre todo, a emplear de forma diferente su tiempo. Objetivo: Establecer evidencia científica actualizada en Latinoamérica sobre los efectos de la pandemia por Covid-19 en la salud mental de adolescentes y jóvenes. Materiales y métodos: La revisión que plantea este protocolo de investigación es de tipo panorámica o exploratoria. Se consultó en las bases de datos SciELO, LILACs y en la librería de PUBMED. Resultados: Dentro del impacto psicológico y mental que puede ocasionar un ambiente de aislamiento en los jóvenes y adolescentes en Latinoamérica y en el mundo, los artículos revisados mencionan: Ansiedad, depresión y estrés. Conclusiones: Dentro de las alteraciones de la salud mental evidenciadas en adolescentes y jóvenes durante la pandemia por covid-19 en el marco latinoamericano y mundial, se logró identificar que la ansiedad, la depresión y el estrés fueron los principales efectos. Este tipo de afectaciones no solo se presentan en Latinoamérica, sino a nivel mundial, afectando principalmente a adolescentes y jóvenes, especialmente a aquellos en situación de vulnerabilidad, como lo es haber sido diagnosticados con covid-19, o perder a familiares y seres queridos a causa de la enfermedad, haberse visto afectado económicamente debido a la pandemia y aquellos con problemas de salud mental preexistente.Introducción. -- 1.
