El proyecto se desarrolló entre agosto de 2001 y diciembre de 2003. Su etapa inicial comprendió la elaboración del diagnóstico participativo, en el cual se recopiló y analizó la información obtenida en la caracterización ambiental, social y económica realizada en la microcuenca La Florida, vereda la Florida, corregimiento de Modin, Cartago- Valle. La elaboración del Plan de Manejo Ambiental, tubo como base los resultados del diagnóstico participativo y la confrontación de la información con estudios realizados por diferentes instituciones, sobre aspectos importantes en la determinación del uso potencial del suelo, elaboración de planes de manejo en micro cuencas hidrográficas e información predial del área. Todo el proceso de diagnóstico participativo, análisis de la información y formulación del plan, contó con la participación de la comunidad que se mostró muy interesada y emotiva con el desarrollo del proyecto en esta área. Igualmente la comunidad participó en los talleres dictados sobre manejo ambiental de la microcuenca , manejo sostenible de bosques de guadua, manejo integral de residuos sólidos, talleres de sensibilización para la ubicación construcción y mantenimiento de pozos sépticos. El proyecto en su parte final concluyó con la entrega del Plan de Manejo Ambiental y la divulgación del mismo ante la comunidad rural e instituciones departamentales y municipales.The plan of environmental handling you elaborates in answer to the necessity of knowing the environmental, social and economic problem of the microcuenca The “Florida”, to develop some strategies of classification of the activities that of agreement, to the potential use of the floor and the vocation of the area, they were capable to improve in an integral way the general conditions of the studied area. Their initial stage understood the elaboration of the diagnostic participative, in which was gathered and it analyzed the information obtained in the environmental, social and economic characterization carried out in the microbasin The “Florida ”, sidewalk the “Florida”, Modin town, Cartago - Valle.
