Durante la gestación ocurren cambios hemodinámicos importantes, que pueden llevar a la descompensación de la paciente con alteración estructural cardíaca previa. Entre estas complicaciones tenemos La falla cardíaca (FC) la cual es considerada una condición crítica, poco frecuente, que puede tener consecuencias graves en la salud maternofetal, genera cambios fisiológicos importantes que aumentan la carga sobre el sistema cardiovascular, especialmente en mujeres con comorbilidades preexistentes como: hipertensión, diabetes, obesidad entre otras. El objetivo fue determinar la prevalencia de la falla cardíaca en mujeres gestantes mediante una revisión de la literatura entre los años 2018 y 2024. Metodología: Revisión de literatura científica sobre falla cardiaca en mujeres gestantes. Los artículos científicos fueron explorados en bases especializadas como: PubMed, sciELO, BVS, Google Académico. Los resultados sugieren que la identificación temprana y monitoreo constante durante el embarazo y el posparto son esenciales para mejorar los desenlaces maternos y neonatales, minimizando complicaciones como la prematuridad y el bajo peso al nacer. Las conclusiones subrayan la importancia de un tratamiento individual y la necesidad de futuras investigaciones para mejorar la atención de las pacientes con esta condición. Los pilares principales del manejo son el diagnóstico anatómico, evaluación preconcepcional para intervenir antes de la gestación a las pacientes que lo requieran, estratificación del riesgo materno-fetal, optimización hemodinámica, y administración de medicamentos seguros a las menores dosis posibles, la consejería genética y pronóstico de la madre a largo plazo.Resumen / Abstract / Introducción / 1.Planteamiento del problema / 2.Justificación / 3.Objetivos / 4.Metodología / 5. During pregnancy, important hemodynamic changes occur, which can lead to decompensation in the patient with previous cardiac structural alteration. Among these complications we have Heart failure (HR) which is considered a critical, rare condition that can have serious consequences on maternal-fetal health, generates important physiological changes that increase the burden on the cardiovascular system, especially in women with pre-existing comorbidities such as: hypertension, diabetes, obesity among others. The objective was to determine the prevalence of heart failure in pregnant women through a literature review between 2018 and 2024. Methodology: Review of scientific literature on heart failure in pregnant women. The scientific articles were explored in specialized databases such as: PubMed, sciELO, BVS, Google Scholar. The results suggest that early identification and constant monitoring during pregnancy and postpartum are essential to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes, minimizing complications such as prematurity and low birth weight. The findings underscore the importance of individual treatment and the need for future research to improve the care of patients with this condition.
