Para cumplir con este objetivo se planteó una investigación descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo cuantitativo o mixto, utilizando como método de investigación inicial el diagnóstico de seguridad y salud en el trabajo y un diagnóstico de cumplimiento de requisitos usado por la OHSAS, que permiten conocer la situación actual de la organización frente a los puntos necesarios exigidos para cumplir con los requisitos mínimos necesario por el sistema de gestión en seguridad y salud laboral; igualmente se trabajó con la Guía Técnica Colombiana GTC 45, la cual permite una fácil identificación, valoración y determinación de controles de peligros y riesgos, sin olvidar la matriz legislativa que garantiza la identificación y el nivel de cumplimiento de la obligaciones legales por parte de la organización. También fue necesario el apoyo y el acompañamiento de integrantes de la organización que por sus años dentro de ella compartieron información histórica que no se encuentra registrada en ninguna clase de documentos, pero a medida que se va ingresando en la documentación del sistema de gestión en seguridad y salud se conocen.
