El enfoque metodológico con el que se desarrolla es cualitativo con modalidad etnográfica; los instrumentos que se utilizan para tal fin son la observación y contacto directo, grupos de discusión y entrevistas semiestructuradas. La población participante es de 244 personas entre 14 y 28 años, 53, 28% mujeres y 46,72% hombres. Como resultado, se observa que el significado de juventud rural se construye por un lado en relación a vivir o haber vivido experiencias en lo rural que llevan a la juventud a vincularse a diferentes aspectos como vivir en medio de dinámicas diversas que traspasan la distinción única de la relación con la agricultura, encontrarse en estado de subordinación en la división que se da entre adultos y jóvenes, vivir diferentes tipos de exclusión y encontrarse en un estado de invisibilidad. Así mismo, el significado de juventud rural se construye desde las proyecciones que tiene esta población a partir de las vivencias en el territorio específicamente la migración como respuesta a las complejidades de su entorno y por último, el significado de juventud rural se construye desde propuestas y capacidades que presenta esta población; ser joven rural en viotá es querer cambiar su realidad en cuanto al entorno que les rodea pero también la forma en la que la sociedad los ha relacionado. La investigación permite concluir que la juventud rural es una categoría construida de acuerdo con aspectos socioculturales e históricos del contexto en el que se encuentra vinculada, siendo más que una delimitación etaria y espacial, un proceso de transición a la adultez e incluso más que el fenómeno migratorio como se ha señalado hasta el momento. Palabras clave: Juventud Rural, Vivir lo Rural, Proyecciones, Propuestas, Capacidades.The main objective of this research is to describe the meanings of rural young people, granted by the yount of municipality of Viotá Cundinamarca in the period 2018-2020. The methodological approach employed for developing this investigation is qualitative with ethnographic modality, the instruments used for this purpose are observation and direct contact, discussion groups, and semi-structured interviews. The participating population is 244 people between 14 and 28 years old, 53,28 percent are women and 46,72 percent are men. As a result, it is observed that the meaning of rural young people is built on the one hand in relation to living or having lived experiences in rural areas that lead yount to be linked to different aspects such as living in the midst of diverse dynamics that go beyond the unique distinction of the relationship with agriculture, finding themselves in a state of subordination in the division that exists between adults and yount, living different types of exclusion and finding in a state of invisibility. Also, the meaning of rural yount is constructed from the projections that this population has from the experiences in the territory, specifically migration as a response to the complexities of its environment and finally, the meaning of rural yount that is built from proposals and capabilities that this population presents, to be a rural yount in Viotá is want to change their reality in terms of the environment that surrounds them but also in relation to how society has related to them. The research allows to conclude that rural yount is a category constructed according to socio-cultural and historical aspects of the context to which it is linked, being more than an age and spatial delimitation, a process of transition to adulthood and even more than the migratory phenomenon as has been pointed out so far.
