S.none.fl_str_mv Eating is a necessity, a vital act for humans, animals, and plants. It is linked to emotional, social, and cultural aspects. These factors combined represent a ritual, which is defined by the routine, customs, and emotions of each person, and in some cases, by their close environment, whether it be family or a community of shared affinities. The ritual of food is not defined by strict rules or canons; instead, it is governed by personal conviction and decision. It is common to see how, in everyday life, the importance of this ritual is lost due to haste, time constraints, or commitments, where it is constantly affected to the point that the significance of nourishing oneself reduces to merely satisfying hunger, losing its essence, the passion, and dedication that it naturally connotes. Food and design are not commonly perceived and felt as one, or under a single atmosphere. While there are restaurants, cafés, and terraces with innovative designs and ideas, it is rare to see that design is focused on "eating well," a human necessity. Eating well is not just about consuming high-quality food, exquisitely prepared instead of frequently opting for fast and poorly balanced meals. Eating well also involves the environment, considering how one eats, and dining with a calm heart and stomach. When thinking about eating in different cultures around the world and the various rituals surrounding this action, it is understood not only as nourishing oneself but also for what it signifies—the feelings it produces (passion, nostalgia, grandeur, sadness, joy, etc.). The attitude and sense of belonging it generates in those who partake in it, and those who do not as much. The aim is to involve common factors between these two concepts in an activity that allows us to engage in the decision-making process of what to eat.
