Summary:Over time the management systems have evolved and human talent for the public sector performance assessment has become an indispensable tool in public management, but in recent times this valuation has fallen short as a tool monitoring and control of personnel, since it is not used to adequately assess the performance of staff as part of institutional productivity. This tool is important because it helps to detect problems of supervision, and allows monitoring and control in various positions dealing with giving a result to deciding changes in jobs, allocation of financial incentives or motivation for staff. You can also make a qualitative and quantitative estimation of the degree of effectiveness with that officers carry out their activities, goals and responsibilities. Other problems may occur: inconsistencies at the time of the ratings because the reviewers do not follow guidelines based on merit, the reviewers do not consider performance evaluations as an opportunity but as a legal obligation and need to improve training evaluators to eliminate rating errors and make use of it with his chances of personnel management.
