River improvement plan of Rio Magdalena 1999-2014

The Magdalena River is the medium that has historically marked the integration and economic development. From the beginning it was left to drift and was not given the importance it now has to be inclusive and development of the Colombian economy axis and a mode of transportation that again one within our regions to the ports of the Caribbean which are the exit door to foreign trade integrated governance model championed development plans, with economic and social policies that give real value for the activation and gear existing transport modes, rail, road and air. And this development is seen materialized future policies designed by the national government from the Constitution of 1991 gave as tools was to create an entity like the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Rio Grande de la Magdalena CORMAGDALENA be devoted exclusively to study, plan and develop projects for the activation of the Magdalena River basin with a purpose to get to be the engine of development and integration into the world economy.
