Esencialmente, tiende a evitar gastos innecesarios de mano de obra, de espacio y factores que afectan la productividad de una organización, para lograr la eficiencia en una buena distribución de planta también se logra la estabilidad. El ubicar en su justo sitio maquinas, herramientas y accesorios, el dar entrada y salida racionales a las materias y productos antes, durante y después de su proceso en planta, pasando desde los almacenes de materias a los departamentos de depósito, embalaje y expedición, y el lograr, en definitiva, que las operaciones propias de la actividad industrial se produzca con mínimos movimientos de materiales y de hombres, exige unos conocimientos técnicos y una preparación de vital importancia para la empresa. De ahí que deba encomendarse esta tarea a expertos cuya formación y experiencia les permita considerar muchos factores que intervienen en el proceso productivo para planear la distribución del modo más eficiente. En el presente artículo, se describirán los principios básicos, tipos y factores que afectan la distribución en planta.Within the process of organizing a production plant to achieve quality, efficiency and competitive prices of the products that are manufactured, distribution occupies a prominent place. Essentially, it tends to avoid unnecessary costs of labor, space and factors that affect the productivity of an organization, to achieve efficiency in a good distribution of plant stability is also achieved. The location in its right place machines, tools and accessories, giving rational input and output to materials and products before, during and after the process in plant, passing from the warehouses of materials to the departments of deposit, packaging and shipping, and the achievement, in short, that the operations of industrial activity occur with minimal movement of materials and men, requires technical knowledge and preparation of vital importance to the company.
