La Policía Nacional de Colombia en su maratónica carrera de mejoramiento continuo, está actualizando la dotación con elementos disuasivos entre otros las Armas No Letales, que permitan el accionar con personal debidamente capacitado, entrenado para el cumplimiento de su misión buscando entre los medios aptos, los más efectivos y menos lesivos para el control de multitudes y escenarios de desorden. De igual manera las empresas de seguridad privada las están ofreciendo a los clientes con atractivas propuestas económicas y aduciendo que los vigilantes en el desempeño de sus funciones pueden utilizarlas ya que cuentan con el respectivo entrenamiento y capacitación en conocimiento, manejo y uso de estas armas. Sin embargo los expertos aplicaron el Derecho Internacional Humanitario existente sobre control de armas, uso de la fuerza, conflictos armados y Derechos Humanos, para sostener que estas deberían estar en un marco de orden jurídico y ético.Within the inventions and the evolution of the weapons of new technology were created those that were not lethal; Non-lethal weapons considered to be those which by their capacity and characteristics were conceived to control a specific situation, on a person.
