OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the expression of cell proliferation index Ki67 and p53 oncogene in colorectal polyps classified histologically as adenomas. METHODS: Descriptive cross-sectional study. The process included the analysis of the evaluation of the expression of immunohistochemical markers P53 and Ki67 in tissues obtained surgically with histopathological diagnosis of adenomas, diagnosed in the Service of Pathology of the Military Hospital, using material embedded in paraffin blocks that rest in the archive of the pathology laboratory of the Central Military Hospital of patients in all age ranges. Cases were reviewed to determine the representative tumor block. Sociodemographic variables were evaluated.
