El presente trabajo presenta un análisis de los altos costos generados por el proceso actual de selección de materiales plásticos postconsumo en la industria colombiana, aborda la posible automatización de este proceso y los beneficios económicos que podrían percibirse si se invierte el cambio. El estudio tiene como objetivo la comparación entre un proceso de selección manual y un proceso de selección automatizado en una empresa que recupera botellas de plástico y las incorpora nuevamente al mercado. Con la investigación fue posible generar información que otorgaba pautas de retorno de inversión y ahorro, en caso de que una empresa implementara la automatización del proceso de selección de material. |

The objective of the study is to compare a manual selection process and an automated selection process in a company that retrieves plastic bottles and brings them back to the market. With the research, it was possible to generate information that provided guidelines for return on investment and savings, in the event that a company implemented the automation of the material selection process.EspecializaciónEste artigo apresenta uma análise dos altos custos gerados pelo atual processo de seleção de materiais plásticos pós-consumo na indústria colombiana, aborda a possível automação desse processo e os benefícios econômicos que poderiam ser percebidos se a mudança fosse revertida. O objetivo do estudo é comparar um processo de seleção manual e um processo de seleção automatizado em uma empresa que recupera garrafas plásticas e as traz de volta ao mercado.
