description El objetivo del presente estudio es describir los resultados funcionales del manejo quirúrgico de las fracturas inestables de tobillo en pacientes mayores de 60 años en el Hospital Militar Central de Bogotá. Se tomará como población a los pacientes que presentaron fracturas de tobillo inestables manejados con reducción abierta y fijación interna (RAFI) en el servicio de ortopedia y traumatología del Hospital Militar Central en el periodo comprendido entre enero de 2014 y Diciembre de 2014. Se trata de un estudio serie de casos retrospectivo en donde todos los pacientes incluidos en el estudio se les realizo la recolección de información incluida en la historia clínica como hallazgos relevantes en el examen físico y mediciones de estudios radiográficos postoperatorios y a su vez se realizara valoración en la escala funcional así como de su satisfacción en el postoperatorio, todos estos datos obtenidos de la historia clínica.

Between january 2014 to december 2014 patients older than 60 years old whom presented to the ER with an unstable ankle fracture that required open reduction and internal fixation were selected to be part of this study. This is an observational retrospective study of cases. Information regarding relevant phisical examination foundings and measurements on the postoperative xrays were taken from the medical history of each patient.
