description El calentamiento global es la principal problemática ambiental a nivel mundial, motivo por el cual, considerando la importancia que tienen para el desarrollo económico los conceptos de sostenibilidad y sustentabilidad; la comunidad científica ha desarrollado diferentes metodologías para su mitigación tales como el cálculo de la Huella de Carbono. Tal preocupación ha trascendido a nivel gubernamental, empresarial y organizacional, convirtiéndose en una tendencia de responsabilidad social empresarial. En ese orden de ideas, y teniendo en cuenta la política ambiental establecida por la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada en su Resolución número 1877 del 14 de Octubre del 2010. En el presente artículo se documenta la estimación de la Huella de Carbono para la sede calle 100 de la UMNG durante el año 2013. Dicha estimación se realizó para las emisiones de alcance 1 y 2 del Protocolo de Gases de Efecto Invernadero, es decir, la generación de energía a partir de la utilización de combustibles fósiles y el consumo de energía eléctrica adquirida para el desarrollo de operaciones respectivamente.
