Defensa del territorio colombiano frente al estado de Nicaragua

Colombia y Nicaragua se encuentran para el año 2012 a la expectativa del fallo de la Corte Internacional de Justicia de la Haya, que definirá su frontera marítima. Pese a que la soberanía de Colombia sobre las islas de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina fue ratificada por la corte en el año 2007 en la decisión que resolvió sobre las excepciones preliminares presentadas por Colombia frente a la demanda interpuesta por Nicaragua, aún se encuentra en juego una gran porción territorial, y con ello, la integridad del archipiélago y la supervivencia del pueblo raizal, así como una reserva natural y petrolera de valor incalculable. En este ensayo se analizará la defensa del territorio colombiano frente a Nicaragua desde diferentes campos, el militar, el jurídico y el diplomático, con el fin de obtener una visión sistemática del diferendo, que permita determinar las posibles fortalezas y debilidades de Colombia en el conflicto binacional.
