¿Is the decentralization an important aspect for public policy?

This essay on the importance of decentralization for public policies is an analysis that is based on the approaches that some authors have made in this regard and focuses on the current context and perspective that this issue can have on the country. This analysis is generated due to the importance that currently represents the decentralization process to manage relevant and efficient public policies that address the priority needs of a nation. The modern state in pursuit of management to generate greater prosperity and development for its people, decentralization has been proposed as a mechanism to involve citizens and local authorities in the formulation, implementation, monitoring and support of public policy that really address their most pressing needs. In Colombia for public policies that guarantee the quality of life and sustainable development of its inhabitants are established it is essential that the public recognizes the value of its governance through decentralization and actively participate in the formulation and implementation of public policies which they will determine their future.
