El carpooling o automóvil compartido es una modalidad de transporte sostenible poco practicada en Colombia. Las Universidades tienen el potencial para promover esta estrategia debido a la cantidad de personas que se movilizan a sus instalaciones y la confianza de estar vinculados a una misma comunidad. La Universidad Militar Nueva Granada tiene sus sedes en Bogotá y el municipio de Cajicá, los trayectos a ambos lugares suelen ser afectados por problemáticas que dificultan la movilidad, como el aumento de población en centros urbanos, falta de infraestructura, deficiente planeación y aumento del parque automotor. Por lo tanto, el compartir automóvil es una opción para mejorar en corto tiempo la movilidad y en este artículo se propone un primer plan para promoverlo entre los estudiantes, docentes y funcionarios de la UMNG. Para definir las variables de estudio se consultan a nivel mundial experiencias de Universidades o centros educativos. A partir de una encuesta online se identifican los actuales modos de transporte, tiempos, costos y nivel de satisfacción de los desplazamientos hacia las sedes de la UMNG, igualmente la percepción y disposición de la comunidad neogranadina frente al uso del carpooling. Finalmente, se crea como herramienta para promover el automóvil compartido o carpooling, un mapa de origen-destino para los potenciales usuarios en su rol de pasajeros o conductores mostrando datos de origen, sede destino, horarios y asientos disponibles. |

Universities have the potential to promote this strategy due to the number of people who move to their facilities and the confidence of being part of the same community. The Nueva Granada Military University has two Campus, one in Bogotá and the other in the municipality of Cajica, both places are usually affected by traffic congestion due to the population increase in urban areas, lack of infrastructure, deficient planning and the increase of automotive park. Therefore, car sharing is an option to improve mobility in a short time, and this article proposes a first plan to promote it among UMNG students, professors, and staff. To define the appropriate carpooling characteristics, it was important to review previous Universities’ experiences worldwide. The analysis of current modes of transportation, hours, costs, and level of satisfaction, as well as the neogranadina community perception and disposition towards carpooling, were collected by designing an online survey.
