Debe asignarse mayor tiempo a la RM.Introduction: Medical ward rounds are complex clinical activities. They provide an opportunity to combine the patient’s care and safety with learning and teaching activities of the junior doctors. The ward rounds must be focused in the patients, but their educational aspects are also important. This review aims to identify the main contribution of the didactic aspects of ward rounds in order to improve the educational processes. Methods: A systematic literature review of the last 10 years was performed using PubMed database that included: ward rounds, medical teaching, hospital teaching and bedside teaching. The specific question to ask in this investigation was: which didactic aspects must be considered in ward rounds for improving educational process? Results: 1383 papers were found and 31 eligible articles about service and teaching ward round or teaching round were selected. The data were heterogeneous and the information was divided in 7 categories: the importance of the ward round in clinical practice, the best learning type for ward rounds, simulated ward round, difficulties during ward rounds, what makes a good clinical student and teacher, and how to evaluate the ward round. Deep learning and simulated ward rounds are realistic and efficient didactic tools. The principal problems during ward round were lack of time and no interest from seniors. The principal characteristics of a good teacher are the enthusiasm towards teaching and the communication skills. The first and principal evaluator of the ward round is the patient. Structured surveys must be included in the evaluation process. Conclusions: the ward round must be focused in the patient without forgetting the formative aspects of the medical education. Simulated ward round must be included in undergrade and postgraduate curricula. More time must be dedicated to ward round.pdfapplication/pdfspaspaUniversidad Militar Nueva GranadaFacultad de EducaciónEspecialización en Docencia UniversitariaDerechos Reservados - Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, 2017https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/co/Atribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadashttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Revista médicarevista docenteenseñanza al lado de la camarevista médica simuladaenseñanza hospitalariaenseñanza médicaEDUCACION SUPERIOR - INVESTIGACIONMEDICINA - ENSEÑANZASIMULACION (MEDICINA)ward roundmedical wardward round simulationteaching roundmedical teachingbedside teachingAspectos didácticos de la revista médica, más allá de su rol asistencialDidactical aspects of the ward round beyond its assistance rolinfo:eu-repo/semantics/otherTrabajo de gradoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/workingPaperTexthttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_8042Bain K, (2007).
