Summary:Objective:The objective of this study is to explain the evolution of the new social contract in relation to science and technology over time. Additionally, it aims to show how this contract has influenced the promotion of a new citizenship, as well as the development of the citizen competencies we know today. The role of the Creaciencia project in the development of these citizen competencies in the department of Tolima is also addressed, highlighting its importance as a key factor and foundation for the creation of new forms of citizenship.Theoretical Framework:The study's categories of analysis include citizen competencies, the new social contract, the new social pact, and citizen competencies.Method:In this study, a qualitative approach was used, which proposes a pathway for creativity and a pedagogical approach involving workshops and training for various actors in the educational field.Results and Discussion:The study shows the evolutionary process of the new social pact on science and technology and how it influences the formation of new citizenships. An example of this is the Creaciencia project, which influences the development of citizen competencies in children and adolescents. Additionally, this project exemplifies the fulfillment of the new social pact on science and technology, as it generates a horizontal dialogue between children, adolescents, and academia.Research Implications:The study highlights the development of a new social pact on science and technology and its implications for the development of civic competencies and new forms of citizenship, which in turn creates more active and responsible actors in their environment. Similarly, the impacts of the Creaciencia project are emphasized, which influences the formation of civic competencies among children and adolescents in the department of Tolima, and how it fosters a new social pacton science and technology in the department of Tolima.Originality/Value:This study aims to highlight the evolution of the new social contract in relation to science and technology over time and how it has led to the formation of new citizenships and the development of new citizen competencies. Similarly, it seeks to highlight the impacts of the Creaciencia project, which promotes new forms of citizenship in the department of Tolima.
