Esta afirmación se basa en el hecho de que, en general, los recursos no se administran de manera uniforme en todo el mundo. Las cifras directamente relacionadas con el desperdicio de alimentos y productos en diferentes ciudades del mundo son tan altas que nos hacen cuestionar el futuro de nuestras próximas generaciones e incluso la actual. En un país como Colombia, hay discusiones sobre lo que está sucediendo en relación con la pérdida y el desperdicio de alimentos, pero parece que no hay una comprensión completa del impacto causado en la comunidad y lo que podría suceder si esto se controlara o si solo se tomaran medidas simples para enfrentar este problema. Una investigación que se llevó a cabo en Suecia en abril de 2014 por Martin Guggi, Clemens Fischer, Daniel Beltrán, Sebastián Gómez y Elia Batista, condujo al presente estudio que amplía la investigación a través de una comparación sobre las causas y las acciones realizadas entre los países de altos ingresos y los de bajos ingresos en términos de desperdicio y pérdidas de alimentos. |

This statement is based on the fact that in general, resources are not administrated evenly around the world. The numbers directly related to the food and product waste in different cities around the world are so high that make us question the future for our next generations and even our current one. In a country like Colombia there are discussions on what it is happening in relation to food loss and waste but it seems like there is not a full understanding on the impact caused in the community, and what could happen if this was controlled or if just simple measures were done to face this problematic issue.
