description La presente investigación se interesa por la relación entre lo sublime, el territorio y la concepción de Paisaje en el arte. No solo se da un ligero panorama del fenómeno de lo sublime a través de la historia, sino también y principalmente, se analiza su influencia en América y en la relación del hombre con la naturaleza. Nuestra reflexión tiene como eje central la conquista y el periodo de las expediciones científicas, desde Mutis hasta la comisión corográfica. Siendo el abordaje de esta cuestión tan amplia, el texto busca cuestionar y abrir nuevos caminos más que ofrecer respuestas concretas. Por esto mismo, el propósito de la investigación es alimentar la toma de decisiones para la obra plástica, mediante la apertura de unas interrogantes que tratan de hallar un paisaje histórico difuso, fragmentado y condenado a una alteridad. De modo que, para utilizar los conceptos desarrollados en el texto mediante la obra plástica, se utiliza como sujeto de estudio al territorio de Muzo en el departamento de Boyacá.
