Clínica Montserrat-Hospital UniversitarioEspecialista en PsiquiatríaEspecializaciónIntroduction: ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that may persist into adulthood, impacting individuals' functionality and well-being. However, in adults it is often underdiagnosed, particularly when co-occurring with conditions such as depression, anxiety, or substance use. In Colombia, there are few studies addressing ADHD in adults with existing mental disorders, which limits appropriate clinical care. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of ADHD in adults attending a mental health clinic in Bogotá, using the ASRS v1.1 screening tool and the DIVA-5 diagnostic interview, based on DSM-5 criteria. Objective: To determine the prevalence of ADHD in adult patients attending a psychiatric clinic in Bogotá, according to DSM-5 criteria, and to contribute to the clinical understanding and therapeutic management of the disorder in this population. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional prevalence study involving adults treated at a specialized mental health clinic. The ASRS v1.1 was used as an initial screening tool, followed by the DIVA-5 interview for diagnostic confirmation in those who screened positive. Results: Among the 48 participants, 52.08% had a positive screening result, and 43.75% were clinically diagnosed with ADHD. Of those diagnosed, 88% reported symptom onset in childhood; the most frequent presentation was the combined subtype (52.4%), and 42.9% exhibited severe symptoms. Younger age was associated with higher diagnosis rates (p = 0.047). Major depressive disorder was the most common primary diagnosis (96%). Conclusions: ADHD showed a high prevalence in this clinical sample, often with severe symptoms and multiple comorbidities. Structured tools such as the ASRS v1.1 and DIVA-5 proved valuable in enhancing detection and treatment in adult psychiatric populations.application/pdfAttribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Acceso abiertohttps://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2TDAHAdultosPrevalenciaDSM 5Unidad mentalBogotáADHDAdultsPrevalenceDSM-5Mental Health UnitBogotáWM 100Prevalencia del Trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad en adultos atendidos en una clínica especializada en salud mental en Bogotá según los criterios del Manual Diagnóstico y Estadístico de los Trastornos Mentales DSM-5Prevalence of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in adults treated at a specialized mental health clinic in Bogotá according to the diagnostic criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).Especialización en PsiquiatríaUniversidad El BosqueFacultad de MedicinaTesis/Trabajo de grado - Monografía - Especializaciónhttps://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fhttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1finfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesishttps://purl.org/coar/version/c_ab4af688f83e57aa1.
