Three dimensions are explored: FST as a manifestation of sexual motivation, the perception of attractiveness and desirability, and the mechanisms used to evaluate potential partners. Evidence suggests that a higher frequency of sexual thoughts intensifies attention toward sexual cues and modulates judgments of attractiveness, especially when combined with individual factors such as erotophilia, sexual self-esteem, or self-perceived attractiveness. Furthermore, these thoughts are found to influence not only physical attraction but also relational desirability, fostering expectations of short- or medium-term encounters. The review is grounded in models of sexual motivation and mate selection, and its findings have clinical and educational implications. It concludes that FST acts as a cognitive catalyst that affects how potential sexual partners are perceived and evaluated. Understanding this phenomenon from a comprehensive psychological perspective contributes to the development of intervention strategies in sexual education and relational well-being.application/pdfAttribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Acceso abiertohttps://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Frecuencia de pensamientos sexualesPercepción del atractivoDeseabilidad sexualEvaluación de posibles parejas150Frequency of sexual thoughtsPerception of attractivenessSexual desirabilityEvaluation of potential matesFrecuencia de pensamientos sexuales y su efecto sobre la valoración del atractivo y la deseabilidad de posibles parejas sexualesFrequency of sexual thoughts and their effect on the assessment of attractiveness and desirability of potential sexual partnersPsicologíaUniversidad El BosqueFacultad de PsicologíaTesis/Trabajo de grado - Monografía - Pregradohttps://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fhttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1finfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesishttps://purl.org/coar/version/c_ab4af688f83e57aaAmos, N., & McCabe, M.
