La Universidad del Quindío, una de las instituciones públicas de educación superior más importantes al occidente del país, tiene como interés consolidar un sistema de gestión ambiental acorde a la ISO 14001, 2015, de manera que pueda expandirse el sistema integrado de gestión con el que cuenta actualmente. El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar la fase inicial del proceso de planificación del sistema de acuerdo a la norma en mención, llevando a cabo la identificación de los aspectos ambientales y la valoración de los impactos por medio de la consolidación de una matriz; y considerando el cumplimiento de los requisitos legales aplicables a la institución. Los resultados obtenidos como producto del trabajo, lo constituyen las matrices que consolidan la información y las acciones correspondientes para ejercer control sobre los impactos ambientalmente significativos, al igual que para dar cumplimiento a la normatividad vigente. Como conclusión se consideran aspectos significativos los relacionados con vertimientos, consumos de agua, de energía, generación de emisiones atmosféricas, entre otros. |

The objective of this work is to perform the initial phase of the planning process of the system according to the standard in question, carrying out the identification of the environmental aspects and the assessment of the impacts through the consolidation of a matrix; and considering the compliance with the legal requirements applicable to the institution. The results obtained as a product of the work are the matrices that consolidate the information and the corresponding actions to exercise control over the environmentally significant impacts, as well as to comply with the regulations in force. In conclusion, significant aspects are considered to be those related to discharges, water and energy consumption, generation of atmospheric emissions, among
