Antecedentes: La odontología actual busca tratamientos conservadores que preserven la estructura dental. Frente a limitaciones de técnicas como la que presentan algunos tratamientos como las carillas, surge el Recontorneo Estético, una alternativa mínimamente invasiva que mejora la estética dental mediante un tallado selectivo del esmalte. Esta técnica requiere planificación detallada y evaluación de parámetros estéticos y biológicos, especialmente en relación con la oclusión normal. Dado que el Recontorneo Dental Estético es una técnica reciente, propuesta por un investigador de la universidad, aún no cuenta con un respaldo científico sólido, por lo que es necesario hacer búsqueda sistematizada de artículos con técnicas similares que permitan a futuro su sustento y seguimiento clínico estandarizado. Objetivo: Con base en la evidencia científica, establecer cuál es el estado de desarrollo de las técnicas actuales de recontorneo estético mínimamente invasivo; estableciendo los parámetros o factores estéticos y biológicos que determinan la necesidad para hacer Recontorneo estético y describiendo que técnicas similares al Recontorneo estético dental se han reportado. Métodos: Este es un estudio de revisión temática con fines de investigación. Para su desarrollo, se planteó una pregunta que guiaría la revisión: ¿Cuál es el estado de desarrollo de las técnicas actuales de Recontorneo estético mínimamente invasivo? Con base en esta pregunta, se establecieron dos ejes temáticos para esta revisión y se crearon estrategias de búsqueda para cada uno en la base de datos PubMed. Se seleccionaron artículos científicos sin restricciones de idioma que abordaran los objetivos de la revisión. Los datos de cada artículo seleccionado fueron extraídos mediante fichas bibliográficas con criterios precisos de extracción. Los dos puntos temáticos fueron 1) Parámetros o factores estéticos y biológicos que determinan las necesidades para hacer recontorneo estético y 2) Técnicas de recontorneo estético dental existentes con sus respectivas indicaciones, contraindicaciones, ventajas y desventajas. Resultados: Como resultados de la búsqueda se identificaron para el primer tema 144.274 publicaciones, de las cuales se preseleccionaron 35 publicaciones, de las cuales se eligieron 30, y para el segundo tema se identificaron 135.956 publicaciones, se preseleccionaron 18 publicaciones, de las cuales se eligieron por pertinencia 16. Se extrajeron los datos de los artículos científicos pertenecientes a los dos temas en fichas bibliográficas, uno por cada artículo Conclusiones: A partir de la extracción de datos se puede concluir de manera general que el Recontorneo Estético Funcional es una técnica conservadora con potencial clínico, pero aún no cuenta con evidencia científica ni estandarización que respalde su uso, Con respecto a la primera temática se puede concluir que existen parámetros estéticos y biológicos específicos que permiten indicar el recontorneo en casos leves, siempre que haya salud periodontal y adecuada planificación y con respecto a la segunda temática que técnicas como la enameloplastia y el recontorneo interproximal han mostrado ser seguras y efectivas, si se aplican bajo criterios clínicos claros y bien indicados |

Frente a limitaciones de técnicas como la que presentan algunos tratamientos como las carillas, surge el Recontorneo Estético, una alternativa mínimamente invasiva que mejora la estética dental mediante un tallado selectivo del esmalte. Esta técnica requiere planificación detallada y evaluación de parámetros estéticos y biológicos, especialmente en relación con la oclusión normal. Dado que el Recontorneo Dental Estético es una técnica reciente, propuesta por un investigador de la universidad, aún no cuenta con un respaldo científico sólido, por lo que es necesario hacer búsqueda sistematizada de artículos con técnicas similares que permitan a futuro su sustento y seguimiento clínico estandarizado. Objetivo: Con base en la evidencia científica, establecer cuál es el estado de desarrollo de las técnicas actuales de recontorneo estético mínimamente invasivo; estableciendo los parámetros o factores estéticos y biológicos que determinan la necesidad para hacer Recontorneo estético y describiendo que técnicas similares al Recontorneo estético dental se han reportado. Métodos: Este es un estudio de revisión temática con fines de investigación. Para su desarrollo, se planteó una pregunta que guiaría la revisión: ¿Cuál es el estado de desarrollo de las técnicas actuales de Recontorneo estético mínimamente invasivo? Con base en esta pregunta, se establecieron dos ejes temáticos para esta revisión y se crearon estrategias de búsqueda para cada uno en la base de datos PubMed. Se seleccionaron artículos científicos sin restricciones de idioma que abordaran los objetivos de la revisión. Los datos de cada artículo seleccionado fueron extraídos mediante fichas bibliográficas con criterios precisos de extracción. Los dos puntos temáticos fueron 1) Parámetros o factores estéticos y biológicos que determinan las necesidades para hacer recontorneo estético y 2) Técnicas de recontorneo estético dental existentes con sus respectivas indicaciones, contraindicaciones, ventajas y desventajas. Resultados: Como resultados de la búsqueda se identificaron para el primer tema 144.274 publicaciones, de las cuales se preseleccionaron 35 publicaciones, de las cuales se eligieron 30, y para el segundo tema se identificaron 135.956 publicaciones, se preseleccionaron 18 publicaciones, de las cuales se eligieron por pertinencia 16. Se extrajeron los datos de los artículos científicos pertenecientes a los dos temas en fichas bibliográficas, uno por cada artículo Conclusiones: A partir de la extracción de datos se puede concluir de manera general que el Recontorneo Estético Funcional es una técnica conservadora con potencial clínico, pero aún no cuenta con evidencia científica ni estandarización que respalde su uso, Con respecto a la primera temática se puede concluir que existen parámetros estéticos y biológicos específicos que permiten indicar el recontorneo en casos leves, siempre que haya salud periodontal y adecuada planificación y con respecto a la segunda temática que técnicas como la enameloplastia y el recontorneo interproximal han mostrado ser seguras y efectivas, si se aplican bajo criterios clínicos claros y bien indicadosEspecialista en prostodonciaEspecializaciónBackground: Modern dentistry seeks conservative treatments that preserve tooth structure. Faced with the limitations of some techniques, such as veneers, aesthetic dental recontouring has emerged as a minimally invasive alternative that improves dental aesthetics through selective enamel shaping. This technique requires detailed planning and evaluation of aesthetic and biological parameters, especially in relation to normal occlusion. As it is a relatively recent technique, it does not yet have solid scientific backing. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a systematic search for articles on similar techniques that will facilitate its future support and standardized clinical follow-up. Aim: Based on scientific evidence, to establish the state of development of current minimally invasive cosmetic dental recontouring techniques, establish the aesthetic and biological parameters or factors that determine the need for this technique, and describe similar techniques that have been reported. Methods: This is a thematic review study for research purposes. To develop it, a question was posed to guide the review: What is the state of development of current minimally invasive cosmetic tooth contouring techniques? Based on this question, two thematic areas were established for this review, and search strategies were created for each one in the PubMed database. Scientific articles were selected without language restrictions that addressed the objectives of the review. The data from each selected article was extracted using bibliographic records with precise extraction criteria. The two thematic areas were 1) Aesthetic and biological parameters or factors that determine the need for aesthetic dental recontouring and 2) Existing aesthetic dental recontouring techniques with their respective indications, contraindications, advantages, and disadvantages. Results: The search identified 144,274 publications for the first topic, of which 35 were preselected and 30 were chosen. For the second topic, 135,956 publications were identified, 18 were preselected, and 16 were chosen for their relevance. The data from the scientific articles belonging to the two topics were extracted into bibliographic records, one for each article. Conclusions: Based on the data extraction, it can be generally concluded that functional aesthetic dental recontouring is a conservative technique with clinical potential, but there is still no scientific evidence or standardization to support its use. Regarding the first topic, it can be concluded that specific aesthetic and biological parameters enable dental recontouring to be indicated in mild cases, provided that periodontal health is maintained and adequate planning is in place.
