In other words, the defense of its mechanicism as the “best hypothesis” explains adequately only a restricted part of his work, while the rest, especially his natural histories, did not require the full support of mechanical philosophy to generate new knowledge. In this sense, it is the development of experimental philosophy, rather than the attachment to mechanism, one of the main elements for understanding the dynamics and complexity of his proposal in the seventeenth century’s natural philosophy.application/pdfspaRevista Colombiana de Filosofía de la Ciencia, 0124-4620, Vol. 13 Núm 26, 2013, 61-86.https://revistas.unbosque.edu.co/index.php/rcfc/article/view/1643Abbri, Ferdinando. “Alchemy and Chemistry: Chemical Discourses in the Seventeenth Century”.
