Estableciendo estrategias que le permitirán afrontar de la mejor manera la situación para brindar un buen cuidado y reorganizar su vida para manejar y enfrentar sus otros roles y adoptar un rol de cuidado saludable. Objetivo: Describir las estrategias de afrontamiento y adopción del rol en cuidadores familiares principales de personas con falla cardíaca. Metodología. Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo de corte transversal, realizado en cuidadores familiares de personas hospitalizadas con diagnóstico de Falla Cardíaca del Hospital Universitario Mayor Méderi de la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia en el año 2023. Se aplicó un muestreo no probabilístico a conveniencia. La información se recolecto mediante la ficha caracterización de la diada (persona con enfermedad crónica-cuidador familiar), el instrumento adopción del rol del cuidador familiar de la persona crónica (ROL) y el BriefCOPE. Resultados. La muestra estuvo conformada por 47 cuidadores familiares principales de personas con Falla Cardíaca. Los cuidadores familiares principales de personas con FC se encuentran en la fase de imposición del rol y organización del rol. No han llegado a la adopción del rol, lo cual se debe en parte a los meses que han dedicado a su nuevo rol, son cuidadores con un mínimo de meses dedicado al cuidado de 3 meses y un máximo de 38 meses. Objective: Describe the coping strategies and role adoption in primary family caregivers of people with heart failure. Methodology. Quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional study, carried out on family caregivers of people hospitalized with a diagnosis of Heart Failure at the Mayor Méderi University Hospital in the city of Bogotá, Colombia in 2023. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling was applied. The information was collected using the dyad characterization sheet (person with chronic illness-family caregiver), the instrument adoption of the role of the family caregiver of the chronic person (ROL) and the Brief-COPE Results. The sample was made up of 47 main family caregivers of people with Heart Failure. Primary family caregivers of people with CF are in the phase of role imposition and role organization.
