El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo fundamental evidenciar el empleo del concepto de ‘interpretación figural’ formulado por Erich Auerbach en la Epístola a los hebreos. Concepto que es entendido como una hermenéutica o modo de concebir figuralmente el acontecer histórico. A partir del análisis detallado de la epístola en la que, como objeto de estudio, se indaga desde la cuestión de la autoría, su estilo literario, su naturaleza o género, hasta ahondar principalmente en el contenido y fundamento, se examina el tema central del argumento teológico que se propone en la epístola: el sacerdocio de Cristo, con la intención no solo de reconocer las características fundamentales de la obra que permitan llegar a una comprensión profunda de su argumento, sino también de constatar la manera como el autor de esta, a partir de las estrategias retóricas de las que hace uso, relee la tradición bíblica y reconstruye su sentido, haciendo visible el método de interpretación figural en ella, comprobando así que las profecías del Antiguo Testamento, particularmente señaladas en los libros de Génesis, Levítico y de los Salmos, se erigen como prefiguraciones de elementos posteriores, más específicamente, el sacrificio y función de Jesús como Sumo Sacerdote |

This concept is understood as a hermeneutics or way of conceiving figuratively the historical demeanor. rom Starting from the detailed analysis of the epistle in which, as object of study, it is researched from the point of view of the authorship wondering, his literary style, his genre, up to deeply studying the content and fundaments, It is examined as the central topic of the theological argument proposed in the epistle: Christ's priesthood, with the intention not only to be recognized as the fundamental characteristic of his work but also to allow a deeper comprehension of his argument. Also has the intention of stating the way the author uses rhetorical strategies and reinterpret the biblical tradition to reconstructs its sense.
