description	El presente proyecto de grado tuvo como propósito analizar la relación entre el uso de la psilocibina y el tratamiento de los trastornos mentales a través de una revisión Bibliográfica de la literatura científica disponible. A partir del examen de diversas fuentes académicas, se evidenció que la psilocibina ha mostrado resultados prometedores en el manejo de afecciones como la depresión resistente, la ansiedad y el trastorno por consumo de sustancias, al favorecer experiencias terapéuticas que promueven la introspección, la regulación emocional y la reconexión con el sentido vital. Sin embargo, también se identificaron riesgos potenciales asociados a su uso, como la posibilidad de crisis psicológicas o reactivación de traumas, lo que subraya la necesidad de aplicar protocolos clínicos rigurosos y acompañamiento profesional. En el contexto colombiano, el interés por esta línea de investigación se encuentra en crecimiento, aunque aún enfrenta limitaciones legales y científicas que restringen su aplicación práctica. Este trabajo resalta la importancia de continuar explorando el potencial terapéutico de la psilocibina desde una perspectiva ética, humanizada y basada en evidencia, que priorice la seguridad y el bienestar integral de las personas.

Based on the examination of various academic sources, the findings revealed that psilocybin has shown promising results in managing conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, as it facilitates therapeutic experiences that promote introspection, emotional regulation, and reconnection with personal meaning. However, potential risks were also identified, including the possibility of psychological crises or the reactivation of past traumas, emphasizing the need for rigorous clinical protocols and professional guidance. In the Colombian context, interest in this field of study is increasing, although it still faces legal and scientific limitations that restrict its practical application.
