The main objective of monitoring structures is the knowledge of their integrity from the assessment and supervision of their behavior using different measurement techniques. This project presents a study about Gómez Ortiz new bridge located on Giron Zapatoca road
Santander department (Colombia) which is a box girder bridge with variable height of four spans with a total length of 510 meters (85 m - 170 m -170 m - 85 m) and a height of piers of 42-47 meters
making it a structure of singular importance. Given that the bridge was just built all its information is available

and in order to increase the data available for this research in the dynamic range
it has made a series of ambient vibration tests to characterize the dynamic properties of the structure. All this information obtained has been used as a calibration source of a numerical finite element model. This study aims to be the basis for developing a proposed plan of long-term structural health monitoring of Gómez Ortiz new bridge. The results establish the condition of the structure in a "time 0" of the monitoring
with the purpose of being benchmark for analyzing changes in its dynamic properties
which are: fundamental frequencies
modal shapes and damping coefficients; this aims to contribute to encourage monitoring of structures in Colombia.
