El proceso incluyó la revisión de información bibliográfica, un levantamiento geológico y caracterización de los mantos de carbón. Con estos, se estableció un modelo geológico y se mapea la distribución de los mantos de carbón en los títulos mineros, identificando sitios para el desarrollo de bocaminas. El modelo geológico describe rocas de la Formación Umir Medio y Superior, con mantos de carbón intercalados y evidencia de fallas asociadas a las Fallas La Salina. Los mantos con mayor potencial se localizaron en el bloque 2 (M210-270) del título HD5-091. Se excluyó un manto en el SGB-09101 por su espesor y geometría inadecuados. Los carbones se clasificaron según la norma ASTM, principalmente como bituminosos medio a bajo volátil, con algunas muestras categorizadas como semi antracíticas, encontrando que ambos títulos son económicamente viables, por lo que se proponen 9 bocaminas para el título HD5-091 y 3 para el sector del título SGB-09101, respaldando el desarrollo y explotación de los proyectos mineros en etapas subsiguientes.

The main objective is to enrich the geological knowledge in relation to the exploration and exploitation of coal in the study area. The process included the review of bibliographic information, a geological survey and characterization of the coal seams. With these, a geological model was established and the distribution of the coal seams in the mining titles was mapped, identifying sites for the development of mine entrances. The geological model describes rocks of the Middle and Upper Umir Formation, with interbedded coal seams and evidence of faults associated with the La Salina Faults. The seams with the highest potential were located in block 2 (M210-270) of the HD5-091 title. One mantle in SGB-09101 was excluded due to inadequate thickness and geometry.
