La aplicación de criterios de diferenciación subespecífica permiten separar estadísticamente la subespecie colombiana de la especie de Venezuela. ABSTRACTA new subspecies of toxodotidae from the pleistocene from Nothern Colombia is described: Mixotoxodon larensis crusafonti. Among the principal morfological differences it is call the attention to the reduction of the metaconid and of the fold meta-entoconid.
