Fermenting bacteria in agroindustrial waste is a way of obtaining valuable industrial products
one of these products is hydrogen
which is obtained by the process of dark fermentation. Hydrogen is an energetic alternative that has aroused great interest because of its energy content per unit mass
also its combustion does not generate polluting gases to the environment. In this project
the production of hydrogen was measured and quantified in fourteen actinomycetes isolated from wastewater of the washing and pulping process of coffee coen strains showed hydrogen production using sacarose as substrate
of these
three strains showed hydrogen production in fresh coffee mucilage in pH 4
41 and neutral pH. The strain that showed the most production of hydrogen in fresh coffee mucilage with an initial pH of 7.0 was chosen to do curves of hydrogen production

reducing sugars
volatile fatty acids
hydrogen production test in diluted fresh coffee mucilage enriched with additional sources of carbon and nitrogen and presence of extracellular enzymes. From the analysis of these results
possible factors affecting hydrogen production were sought. It was appreciated that
by adjusting the initial pH of the fresh coffee mucilage diluted to 7.0 the dark fermentation is favored. This was evident by comparing the production of both hydrogen and acids. It was also observed that the strain MFSR 8 showed the best hydrogen production (50 mmol/L) besides the high production of volatile fatty acids
therefore it is possible to say that it is an empowered strain to make dark fermentation.
