| Summary: | The fuel cell (FC) ¡s a promissory energy conversión technology to power zero emission vehicles (ZEV) and stationary power sources. It is a clean and efficient technology whose provided power comes from two-electrochemical redox-reactions. Arapid chronological review from 1839 up to the present-day is given. The fuel cell applications, advantages and disadvantages, its basic elements and FC classification are reviewed. It is described the fuel cell system with its functional parts. Finally an economical and technical analysis is made on fuel cell and its the challenges that are facing up in order to get a massive application in the near future. |
