RESUMEN: Esta investigación presenta las posibles rutas de formación permanente que un grupo de docentes de inglés traza en sus regiones. Basada en los principios de la investigación cualitativa, se lleva a cabo un estudio casos múltiples en el departamento de Antioquia, Colombia. La información se obtiene mediante el análisis de documentos, entrevistas semiestructuradas y entrevistas grupales. Los hallazgos evidencian que es preciso: contextualizar las agendas de formación, concebir la formación como un proceso sistemático a largo plazo, ofrecer educación posgraduada en los territorios apartados, velar por que las entidades y los/las formadores/as ofrezcan programas de calidad. Se concluye la necesidad de replantear la perspectiva tradicional de formación para contemplar una política que promueva la formación situada del profesorado de inglés del país, en la cual él sea protagonista de su propia formación y tenga un lugar central en la construcción de los programas de desarrollo profesional en los territorios. |

This is a multiple case study based on the principles of qualitative research carried out in Antioquia, Colombia. Document analysis, semi structured interviews and group interviews were the data collection methods. Results evidence the need to: Contextualize the professional development agendas, plan in-service education within the framework of a systematic process, offer graduate education in the distant regions apart from the cities, and finally, ensure that the institutions and the teacher educators in charge of in-service education offer high-quality programs.
