RESUMEN: En este artículo se presenta la percepción que tienen los estudiantes de medicina de la Universidad de Antioquia acerca del Hospital Universitario San Vicente de Paúl. Se llegó a esta percepción a través de una investigación cualitativa en la que emergieron tres categorías principales que se desarrollaron por separado, así: “Actitud y reflexiones del estudiante", "El nivel del estudiante determina las características del vínculo con el Hospital", y "Las relaciones dependen del reconocimiento de los saberes del otro". Al mismo tiempo que se corroboró la importancia que para los estudiantes tiene el Hospital desde el imaginario colectivo, se evidenció una importante insatisfacción por parte de éstos en el desarrollo de las prácticas y en la relación que se presenta con algunos de los actores institucionales, dando cuenta de sentimientos de subvaloración y de exclusión en el desarrollo de los procesos del Hospital. Los resultados de esta investigación se presentan como invitación a la reflexión acerca de la forma como se ha desarrollado el modelo pedagógico y cómo pueden modificarse las condiciones para el mejoramiento de las prácticas. |

The results were reached through a qualitative approach and three main categories emerged, as follows: "Attitude and student's reflections", "The student's level determines the characteristics of the bond with the Hospital" and "The relationships depend on the recognition of the knowledge of the other". At the same time that the importance of the Hospital for the students in their collective imaginary was corroborated, an important dissatisfaction come up in relation with the carrying of the medical practices and the relations with some of the institutional actors, giving bill of undervaluation feelings and exclusion in the development of the processes of the Hospital.
