Also, craneofacial anthropometric measurements were made in order to compare them with international standars and in this way define in a more precise way the craneofacial characteristics of these patients Stomatological clinical records, periapical radiographs, panoramic, frontal and lateral head plates, photographs, stone models and anthropometric measurements were taken in eight patients between tha ages of three and twenty one years and with levels of serum inmunoglobulin E higher than 2000 IU/ml, with typical history of SHIEIR (according to WHO criteria). As a common cephalometrical characteristic it was found that all the patients had an increased gonial angle; no severe asymmetries were found that would compromise the patients clinically or in their esthetics. In relation with the anthropometric measurements it was found that there was an increase in the intercantal internal and external distances, nasal width and length in patiens with SHIEIR in the age of growth. |

In relation with the anthropometric measurements it was found that there was an increase in the intercantal internal and external distances, nasal width and length in patiens with SHIEIR in the age of growth.RESUMEN: El propósito de este estudio realizado en los pacientes con Síndrome de Hiper-inmunoglobulinemia E con Infecciones Recurrentes (SHIEIR), fue analizar por medio de radiografías cefálica lateral y postero- anterior de cabeza, las características cefalométricas comunes entre ellos. También se realizaron mediciones antropométricas craneofaciales, para luego compararlas con estándares internacionales y de esta manera, junto con el análisis radiográfico, definir con mayor exactitud las características craneofaciales de estos pacientes. En ocho pacientes entre tres y veintiún años, con niveles de inmunoglobulina E (IgE) sérica mayores de 2.000 UI/mL y con historia típica de SHIEIR (según criterios OMS), se realizaron historias clínicas estomatológicas, radiografías periapicales, panorámicas, cefálicas laterales y frontales, estudios fotográficos, modelos en yeso, y mediciones antropométricas. Como característica cefalométrica común se encontró que todos los pacientes tenían el ángulo goníaco aumentado; no se encontraron asimetrías marcadas que comprometieran clínica o estéticamente a los pacientes.
