RESUMEN: el proyecto de intervención "Hombres al timón" propuesto y ejecutado en el marco de la práctica académica en el Centro de Atención Integral a la Infancia-Comfenalco del municipio de Carepa, nace a raíz de la preocupación por las problemáticas presentes en relación a las dificultades para una participación activa de las figuras masculinas en el proceso de educación inicial de niños y niñas de manera que busca promover una participación activa y responsable de las figuras parentales masculinas en el centro de infancia. La metodología utilizada estuvo vinculada a la realización de una contextualización territorial e institucional que permitió conocer funciones de la caja de compensación familiar como institución en el municipio, también se realizó un diagnóstico rápido participativo para conocer las necesidades de niños y niñas y de las familias que son atendidos en el centro de infancia, posterior a este, se propuso y diseñó el proyecto hombres al timón que tuvo como objetivo general : promover la participación activa de las figuras parentales masculinas en el proceso educativo de los niños y las de párvulos, prejardin y jardín. Todo esto a través de actividades en función del cumplimiento del objetivo principal: talleres en relación a la importancia de la paternidad responsable, construcción de alternativas de participación activa en el proceso educativo, conversatorios alrededor de los imaginarios y estigmas del rol masculino socialmente aceptados. Thus , it seeks to promote an active and responsible participation of male parental figures in the early childhood center. The methodology used was linked to the realization of a territorial and institucional contextualization that allowed to know the functions of the family compensation fund as an institution in the municipality, also a rapid participatory diagnosis was made to know the needs of children and families who are served in the childrens center, after this, it was proposed and designed the project men at the helm whose overall objective was to promote the active participation of male parental fugures in the educational process of children in kindergarten, preschool and kindergarten all this through activities based on the fulfillment of the main objective: Whorshops of the importance of responsible fatherhood, construction of alternatives for active participation in the educational process, discussions about the imaginaries and stigmas of the socially accepted male role.
