RESUMEN: Esta monografía estudia la calle Obando en la ciudad Santiago de Arma de Rionegro, entre 1914 y 1930. La investigación da cuenta de las formas de control y la relación entre habitantes, visitantes y autoridad, todo esto en relación al espacio que era predominado por un comercio licito, no obstante, también estaba influenciado por el comercio ilícito que posteriormente daría las razones para definirla como zona de tolerancia. Para lograr esto se usaron diferentes procesos judiciales que reposan en el archivo histórico de Rionegro, asimismo se consultaron otros archivos y fondos para lograr un análisis riguroso del arrabal de la ciudad. |

This street represented a challenge for the control entities due to the development of different public and private practices that were considered as immoral, illegal, and even degenerative. The research provides an account of the control forms and the relation among visitors, inhabitants, and authorities. All of this related to a space where licit trade predominated, but that was also influenced by illicit trade, which subsequently was defined as a tolerance zone. In order to achieve this, different judicial processes found in Rionegro’s historical archive were used.
