RESUMEN: El proyecto de grado "Tras las huellas sonoras de un pasado presente de la chirimía tradicional del Chocó" se enfoca en reconocer y valorar las expresiones de las tradiciones folclóricas de la región chocoana, especialmente la chirimía del río Atrato y del río San Juan. El estudio busca comprender la evolución de la chirimía desde su formato tradicional hasta las nuevas propuestas instrumentales actuales, considerando su importancia cultural y su significado en la identidad de las comunidades afrodescendientes. Se busca documentar e ilustrar esta transformación que ha llevado a la incorporación de instrumentos modernos como el clarinete y el bombardino a un formato que no los incluía en sus tempranos inicios. Este proyecto contribuye a la preservación del patrimonio cultural del Pacífico Norte colombiano, y, en consecuencia, al fortalecimiento de las identidades culturales locales y empoderamiento de las comunidades afrodescendientes. |

The study seeks to understand the evolution of the shawm from its traditional format to the new current instrumental proposals, considering its cultural importance and its meaning in the identity of Afro-descendant communities. The approach to the problem lies in dignifying and documenting this transformation, which has led to the incorporation of modern instruments such as the clarinet and the euphonium.
