RESUMEN: En la bibliotecología, la noción de biblioteca se ha consolidado en un punto global, justificado y tranquilo, olvidando la necesidad de transformar la sociedad latinoamericana, pues se afinca en otras concepciones del mundo y en otras necesidades culturales; por ello es prioritario el desarrollo de un proyecto social nacionalista y latinoamericano con especial referencia a la creación y consolidación de una sociedad lectora desde la biblioteca, con la promoción de la lectura no como algo meramente coyuntural o como un servicio más, sino planteada como su razón de ser, su circunstancia generadora. En este último sentido cabrían interrogantes sobre la definición y filosofía de la lectura y su asunción como un problema social que exige una revaloración profunda de la misión de la biblioteca y del actuar del bibliotecólogo. |
