Este modelo determina los viajes que se dan entre una y otra zona de acuerdo con la generación y la atracción de viajes existentes entre dichas zonas y una función de impedancia que depende del tiempo de viaje entre zonas. Se analizó el modelo para el período pico de la mañana y de la tarde y para los motivos estudio, trabajo y otros, encontrándose que la función de impedancia que mejor se adapta a los modelos para las diferentes categorías socio-económicas es la de tipo exponencial negativa.

The gravity model was applied using the software TransCAD. This model determines the trips between two zones in accordance with the generation and attraction of trips between related zones and an impedance function that depends on the travel time-cost between zones.
