description RESUMEN: Los sinfílidos (Arthropoda: Myriapoda) son habitantes naturales del suelo; existen dos géneros, Scutigerella y Hanseniella, que están reconocidos como plagas de cultivos en el mundo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar diferentes formas de muestreo de sinfílidos, para su diagnóstico en cultivos de crisantemo (Dendranthema grandiflora) en Colombia. Con los resultados obtenidos se diseñó un protocolo para el diagnóstico de sinfílidos en cultivos de flores, el cual para una cama de cultivo, requiere tres muestras de suelo provenientes de la rizósfera, debajo de la manguera de riego. Adicionalmente, se estableció un umbral de acción, cuando se registra un promedio de 0,4 sinfílidos por 100 g de suelo.

Two genera, Scutigerella and Hanseniella, are considered worldwide crop pests. The aim of this study was to evaluate differ- ent symphylan sampling methods to effectively test for the presence of symphylan pests of Dendran- thema grandiflora (garden chrysanthemum) in Colombia. Based on the results obtained, a protocol was designed to test for the presence of symphylans in flower crops, collecting three rhizosphere soil samples under the irrigation hose.
