RESUMEN: Objetivo: describir algunas características de salud mental de la población que ha ingresado a tratamiento por adicción a sustancias psicoactivas en instituciones del Valle de Aburrá. Método: enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental, transversal, descriptivo, con una muestra a conveniencia de 120 personas entre los 18 y 65 años que se encuentran en proceso de rehabilitación por adicción a sustancias psicoactivas de tres instituciones con modelos terapéuticos distintos. Instrumento: Se construyó un instrumento que incluye el cuestionario de autoreporte SRQ-18 de la OMS. Resultados: De los encuestados 99 eran hombres y 21 mujeres, se encontró que el 85% de la población pertenece a estratos bajos. El 65% de la población cuenta con escolaridad hasta bachillerato. En relación a las sustancias psicoactivas se encontró que: las drogas más consumidas fueron cocaína con un 34,2%, Marihuana 20% y Bazuco 15%. El 85,8% de la población son policonsumidores. El 30% de la población presenta sintomatología de ansiedad y depresión, y el 77,5% presenta psicosis. Conclusiones: Se logró evidenciar que un tercio de la población encuestada presenta sintomatología positiva de ansiedad, depresión, y la mayoría puntuó positivo en sintomatología psicótica. Mayor parte de la población estudiaron hasta bachillerato, no tienen pareja estable y están desempleados. Se encontró que la cocaína fue la sustancia más consumida en ambos géneros y el policonsumo se presentó en igualdad de proporción en ambos géneros. |

Method: a quantitative approach, with a nonexperimental, transversal, descriptive design, with a convenience sample of 120 people between the ages of 18 and 65 who are in the process of rehabilitation for addiction to psychoactive substances from three institutions with different therapeutic models. Instrument: An instrument including the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION SRQ-18 self-report questionnaire was constructed. Results: Of the respondents, 99 were men and 21 were women. It was found that 85% of the population belonged to low strata. 65% of the population's highest level of education was high school. Regarding psychoactive substances, it was found that the most used drugs were cocaine with 34.2%, marijuana with 20%, and bazuco with 15%. 85.8% of the population are polyconsumers. 30% of the population has symptoms of anxiety and depression, and 77.5% have psychosis. Conclusions: It was found that one-third of the surveyed population presented positive symptoms of anxiety, depression, and most scored positive in psychotic symptoms. In most of the population, high school was the highest level of education received, they have no stable partner and are unemployed.
