RESUMEN: El objetivo de este artículo es presentar la teoría monetaria de Schumpeter en el marco del neowickselianismo propuesto por la nueva síntesis neoclásica. Se muestra que la contribución de Schumpeter tiene que ver con la definición tanto de un equilibrio estacionario como de un desequilibrio, a partir del cual los ciclos económicos surgen como resultado de choques tecnológicos de origen determinístico. Esta contribución contrasta con la nueva síntesis neoclásica donde el equilibrio semiestacionario depende de las anticipaciones racionales, mientras que los ciclos resultan de choques estocásticos provenientes tanto de un cambio tecnológico como de un cambio en las preferencias de los agentes. En ambas teorías, la ausencia de la cantidad de dinero en las condiciones que definen el equilibrio, reduce notablemente el alcance de la teoría monetaria subyacente en la teoría de la política monetaria. |

En ambas teorías, la ausencia de la cantidad de dinero en las condiciones que definen el equilibrio, reduce notablemente el alcance de la teoría monetaria subyacente en la teoría de la política monetaria.ABSTRACT: The purpose of this article is to present the monetary theory of Schumpeter within the frame of Wicksellianism, proposed by the new neoclassical synthesis. This article shows that Schumpeter’s contribution has to do with the definition of a stationary equilibrium as well as disequilibrium from which economic cycles arise as a result of technological shocks of a deterministic origin. This contribution is in contrast with the new neo-classical theory where a semi-stationary equilibrium depends on rational expectations; while economic cycles are a result of stochastic shocks originated by technological change as well as by a change in the preferences of the agents.
