Esta revisión se distancia de algunos análisis transculturales, practicados por la antropología social, que categorizan el término "juventud" desde las coordenadas del mundo occidentalizado, construyendo una reflexión sobre la totalidad de las sociedades con los parámetros con los que Occidente ha mirado la juventud. La revisión de la producción teórica se acerca, por el contrario, al discurso socio histórico que define la juventud de manera contextualizada, ateniéndose a las sociedades en específico y a las temporalidades históricas en las que tales sociedades devienen.

This revision diverges from a kind of transcultural analysis, carried out in the field of social anthropology, that define the term “youth” from the perspective of the westernized world, constructing a reflection on all the societies as a whole, with the parameters with which the West has perceived youth.
